Biography
Since Andy C played the once-mysterious Beatles Bootleg at Wembley in 2018, the name Urbandawn has become synonymous with electrifying Drum & Bass. His anthem ‘Come Together’ took the Electronic Dance Music scene by storm, clinching the Drum & Bass Arena Award for ‘Best Track’ that same year.
Urbandawn, a Brazilian-born artist, first caught the attention of South London’s Hospital Records back in 2012 when his debut imprint release ‘Astrolabe’ was featured on the ‘Hospitality 2012’ compilation. Since then, he has become an integral part of the label’s exclusively signed roster, with his music enjoying heavy rotation and multiple releases, including his highly anticipated first album “Gotherburg Cluster” and remixes for British Rock giants like Enter Shikari – which propelled him into a heavy touring schedule across Europe and New Zealand.
Trained in classical and Brazilian popular music, Urbandawn’s musical journey began early, mastering Classical Guitar, Bass, and Drums. His formal education in Audio Engineering from ‘IAV’, one of South America’s most respected Audio Institutes, further honed his craft.
Urbandawn’s influences are as diverse as they are deeprooted. Raised in a household where Brazilian legends like Tim Maia and Clara Nunes mingled with the classical compositions of Mozart and Bach, and the heavy sounds of Scandinavian Metal and Rock, his productions reflect a rich tapestry of sonic influences.
Beyond the dance floors and festival tents, from legendary clubs like Fabric in London to one of the biggest festivals in the world like Tomorrowland, Urbandawn’s music finds itself in sync with global brands such as Volkswagen, Audi, Nestlé, Red Bull, and Microsoft, showcasing his versatility in
sound design.
The breakthrough of 2019, marked by his cover of The Beatles’ “Come Together,” catapulted Urbandawn into the spotlight, securing a place in the Billboard Top 100, winning the prestigious “Best Track” award at Drum & Bass Arena, and claiming the #1 spot on Beatport charts.
In subsequent years, Urbandawn’s collaborations with industry giants like Zeds Dead and Netsky have further solidified his position in the electronic music scene. Additionally, he has become a regular guest on worldwide radio shows such as the BBC in London, Diplo’s show at Sirius XM, and George FM in New Zealand. His foray into gaming, notably composing the Opening Theme for Microsoft’s acclaimed game “Forza Horizon 5,” underscores his diverse creative reach
