ChatGPT for Blogging

ChatGPT for blogging

If you noticed there has been a lot of output from me recently in the way of blogs and other social postings. The books I write (find them on https://www.CyberGrooveAM.com/consult) are indeed different as those are bodies of work that are planned out and outlined and take a while to develop. The blogs on the other hand are a small outline and I use ChatGPT to help me stay consistent to get them written and published so I can have one ready once a week for all you fine people.

So here is how I plan and do it so you too can get more knowledge into the world.

The purpose of blogging for me is threefold.

  1. I want to increase the reach of my brand so blogging is adopting good SEO practices

  2. Through this reach, I hope to increase my company’s revenues

  3. To get useful knowledge out to those who read it

So let’s be honest do I like writing, yes, I actually do, if I didn’t I would just hire someone to do highly saturated keyword-driven blog posts and jump into being an agent again with the time I apply to this. So when you do click on my links and read my content I do truly hope you get something from it.

Ok so let’s get into it.

Idea generating:

I come up with ideas for content based on what is happening to myself, in the world,  or in my business. I save YouTube videos to watch later, do the same with a news feed, check a few music industry websites, and listen to an audio news feed every morning to make sure nothing horrible is happening without me knowing about it. Then I wait for the little voice in my head which is called inspiration to come to me and say, yep that’s a good topic. Then once I have the topic I note it down in my to-do app ToDoist and schedule it for the writing task. When that time comes I go into Google’s keyword tool (https://ads.google.com/aw/keywordplanner/home?ocid=110856128&euid=119682728&__u=1978676072&uscid=110856128&__c=4171892672&authuser=0&sf=kp&subid=us-en-awhp-g-aw-c-t-kwp-hero%21o2) and see the best way to form it looking for that 900% search rate keywords so I can ensure I am going to get readers or at least increase the chance of more eyes. For more info on the use of the Keyword tool check YouTube as those people know what they are talking about.

Writing the article:

Then I’ll write the outline and then enter ChatGPT. I’ll say to ChatGPT “Please use this following outline to write a blog article for WordPress. Then it does just that. Then I’ll write please provide a suggested slug, tags, and meta description. Then it’ll do that. (Always say please, just in case they do take over, they will remember who were nice and not)

I’ll take the written blog article and bring it into Evernote and make it more “me” and make sure I include everything I would put in the footer of the article like my website URL or anything else depending on my purpose of writing it as this is always different. The thing I’ll always have there is the Mailchimp subscription so I can build my mailing list as I want those who subscribed to receive my music business stuff gets it. Most of those people subscribed because that was the way to get my first book (http://prostardom.com/offerbook/)

Once I feel it is ready I’ll go to unsplash.com and find a photo to use as the feature photo. As a warning don’t just go anywhere and right-click on a photo. I went through a $1,100 lesson by using 2 photos that were protected by copyright…who knew…I can tell that story if you all tell me you want to hear it.

So I take the photo and always credit the photographer for thanks but also so Getty or AP can’t claim it’s theirs in some sneaky way.

Then I input the tags in, the meta description, ensure the key phrase aligns with proper keywording and input the excerpt of the blog post. I use YostSEO for WordPress to help me along here.

This is when I schedule the post. At the time of writing, I schedule posts for Tuesdays at 2 pm EST. So you can always check https://www.cybergrooveam.com/news and also my sub stack at https://scottmccusker.substack.com/ at this time to see my new stuff.

It is also smart to have posts queued up for weeks so you can take some time off and focus on other things. So every week do around 2 or 3 posts and you’ll have a years worth of blogs in no time. This is if you do this weekly like me. If your doing this daily well then good luck.

Socials:

Then I promote the post on socials the day after around the same time or as close as I can get.

ChatGPT also helps me with this, in the chat I’ll just type “Please write me social posts” and it makes it happen. Although I always edit it because, in my opinion, I don’t write that way but it’s a great start.

In the recent past, I schedule these on socials but more recently I have just been doing it manually as I am trying out different methods of posting to see what I can indeed schedule and what I can’t. I post on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. I also created a Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/cgagencygroup) page as I saw this is a big draw still especially for the ladies.

Podcast:

We also have two podcasts, one is called CGRadio and the other is CGTalk. I’ll be talking about CGTalk here as it relates to the blogs.

I use Audacity to record, I’ll record the intro, and then use Microsoft Edge’s Read Out Loud feature to read the blog posts that I know will translate well and upload them to my podcast feed. This allows the content to live in another medium. The plug-in I use for this in WordPress is Blubrry as it allows you to put in the MP3 (I host the mp3 files on Amazon S3) and it includes it on top of the blog post so you can either listen or read.

YouTube:

This is very new, but my process with this is taking the podcast mp3 and loading that into DaVinci Revolve and load up a video clip and creating duplicates of them for the duration of the mp3 file. Then upload it to YouTube. For the writing of the description yep you guessed it – ChatGPT.

That is pretty much it…

So ChatGPT doesn’t really do the work for me but it is like having a draft writer working with me to make my life easier. This draft writer also knows enough about social media marketing to provide proper insights on how to make the post the best version of itself possible. Although again, use it as a draft. Also don’t trust facts or figures it spits out. A lot of people forget it doesn’t have up-to-date information so it will only provide the information it knows and it will straight up provide incorrect information just to complete its task. I believe the whole process to stay consistent with blogging is just a daunting task so ChatGPT makes this process more doable as you have an assistant of sorts.

So I hope this helps and pushes you to start getting more knowledge out in the world. There is so much content out there so make sure you come original with it so you just aren’t another pushing out things to satisfy a keyword you are pushing out. Be authentic and care about helping people and the universe will reward you, or at least that is the hope ain’t it?

Till next time.
