Get To Know Nick O:
What age did you start your career as an artist?
I started when I was 18 years old attending my first year of college. I didn’t know much at the time, I just knew I was passionate about music and wanted to give myself an opportunity to pursue it.
Who have been your musical Influences?
When I first started I was heavily influenced by artists such as Ricky Remedy, Mayhem, and Quix. Some of my biggest current influences are Peekaboo, Tvboo, and ATLiens. My inspiration constantly changes as I evolve through the years.
Do you play / listen to other Genres edm/non-edm?
I listen to all types of music for inspiration. I grew up listening to rap and hip-hop, which is a huge part of my sound. I also listen to jazz, classical, metal, and rock. I’m picking up instruments as I go, and challenging myself to experiment with various genres and styles of music beyond this project.
What was the First Party you attended? What was the first party you played at?
The first show I attended was EOTO and Bassnectar @ Roy Wilkins Audiotorium in Saint Paul, MN in 2011. I was in awe of the energy at that show. The first show I played was at a Saint Paul bar called the Minnesota Saloon.
Upcoming Albums/EP’s?
I’m working on putting together an EP, but I’m currently focusing on getting some remixes and solo tracks released, some of which are featured in this mix.
Who would you like to collaborate with?
I would love to collab with artists such as Tvboo, BD HBT, G-REX, and Hydraulix.
What do you think of livestreams?
I think livestreams are great for the EDM community in our current social climate. In this time of uncertainty, it’s great to have a tool to help maintain strong relationships between artists and fans.
Goals for 2021?
My goals for 2021 are to continue growing and challenging myself, to remain consistent and true to myself as an artist, and to start releasing the music I’ve been working on. I would also like to play my first music festival.
